From October 26th to November 1st 2012, Waterloo Hydrogeologic groundwater software distributor Beijing Water International (BWI) hosted its 9th successful groundwater modeling and data analysis training course at the China University of Geosciences in Beijing, China.

Over one hundred participants from 63 institutions attended the 7-day course which consisted of lectures from world renowned scholars on subjects ranging from groundwater flow and contaminant transport simulation to aquifer characterization, pumping test design and data analysis.

Lectures were followed by interactive lab sessions giving participants hands-on experience with Waterloo Hydrogeologic groundwater software including Visual MODFLOW, AquiferTest Pro and UnSat Suite. The lab exercises covered various topics including confined aquifer pumping test analysis, slug test analysis, organic pollution transport, natural degradation simulation, 3D plume capture and PHT3D geochemical modeling.

Since Waterloo Hydrogeologic released the Chinese versions of Visual MODFLOW and AquiferTest Pro, demand for comprehensive groundwater software training has increased in in the country.   For more information on upcoming groundwater software training courses in China, please contact:
