Waterloo Hydrogeologic and our distributor, Beijing Water International Ltd (BWI), are pleased to announce the first release of Visual MODFLOW Flex in Chinese. The translation of Visual MODFLOW Flex was a joint effort between both companies to support the growing groundwater market in China.
BWI continues to provide a high level software training to support Visual MODFLOW Flex. Recently, BWI hosted a successful training course that used the newly translated Visual MODFLOW Flex interface. The course, which ran from June 16-20, 2014, was held in association with Waterloo Hydrogeologic, the State Environmental Protection Engineering Center for Industrial Contaminated Sites and Groundwater Protection, Peking University and the China University of Geosciences.
The course offered lectures from world-renowned scholars like Prof. Fusheng Hu, Dr. XIaodong Yu, Prof. Chunmiao Zheng and Dr. Yongqiang Qi in the mornings and a series of hands-on software exercises in the afternoon. Over thirty participants from eighteen institutions participated in the event and were highly impressed by the conceptual modeling approach and workflow designs in Visual MODFLOW Flex. The complete Chinese interface made it easier for Chinese users to fully explore the functions and features of the software, allowing Waterloo Hydrogeologic and BWI to better support these customers and the environmental problems they are exploring.
