Team License Setup
License Manager Set Up
Your license server does not need to be on a server machine (although this is recommended); it can also be placed on a central machine to which all the client machines that will use the application can connect to. Install the license manager application on the designated machine using this installer.
After completing the installation:
- Launch the License Manager. You can find this in c:Program Files (x86)Waterloo HydrogeologicLicense Manager.
- Double-click on install license.
- Select ‘Request a License File’.
- Enter your Serial Number and hit[Submit] button.
Once you have done this, if the server has an active internet connection, it will download the license file to your machine.
- Go to the following folder and find your license (.LIC) file: c:Program Files (x86)Waterloo HydrogeologicLicense Manager.
Note if the folder doesn’t exist look here: c:Program FilesWaterloo HydrogeologicLicense Manager.
Client Machine Licensing
- Install the correct version of the product on the machine.
- Make a copy of the license file created on the license server (as per the above steps).
- Transfer a saved version of the copied license file to the client machine(s). Use that license in order to activate the software:
- Launch software
- Select Activate > I have a license file
- Browse and add the license file to the software
- Hit [Submit] button
Team License Activation Issues?
Allowing License Manager through Windows Firewall
*If you face activation issues on the client machine(s), follow the below steps on your server.
Make sure there is only one Team License Manager installed on your network.
Unfortunately, allowing all ports and turning off the firewall is not the same as creating the laid out inbound rule and setting the specific ports. The following steps will permit the License Manager to communicate through your firewall:
- In your server go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > “Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall”
- Click on “Change settings”.
- Click on “Allow Another Program”.
- Click “Browse” and navigate to “C:Program Files (x86)SWS (or Waterloo Hydrogeologic)License Manager”.
- Select “rlm” and click “Open”.
- Select “rlm” from the list of Programs and click on “Add”.
- Make sure that “Domain”, “Home/Work(Private)” and “Public” checkboxes are checked besides “rlm”.
- Select “Okay”.
Creating an inbound rule for the License Manager:
- In your server go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > Advanced Settings.
- Select “Inbound Rules” on the left.
- Select “New Rule…” on the right.
- Select “Port”. Click “Next”.
- Select “TCP. Select “Specific local ports:”
- Type in “2375, 2376, 5053” in the text field. Click “Next”.
- Make sure “Allow the connection” is selected. Click “Next”.
- Make sure that all three checkboxes for “Domain”, “Private” and “Public” are selected. Click “Next”.
- Give the new inbound rule a name (ex: “New License Manager Rule). Click “Finish”.
Restart the server after the above changes.
