Who should attend?
This course is suited for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals behind groundwater modelling and how to develop models using Visual MODFLOW Flex. Prior modelling experience is not required, however, the course material assumes a basic background knowledge of the principles of hydrogeology.
Attendees are required to provide their own computer with the software loaded.
Requirements
Computers with the following minimum requirements are needed to run Visual MODFLOW Flex:
System Requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 Pro or Enterprise Editions
- Processor: 32-bit or 64-bit
- Hard Disk: 500 GB with enough room to run a model. We recommend 50 GB or more additional free space
- RAM: 16GB or more recommended
What you will get!
- 30-day temporary training license of Visual MODFLOW Flex Premium
- A copy of all the course lectures and exercises
- Networking with other environmental and modelling professionals
- 10% discount on Visual MODFLOW Flex licenses for attendees
- A certificate of attendance for completing the course
Instructors
The course will be led by Nicholas Lyle, the lead trainer at Waterloo Hydrogeologic and (depending on attendance) Kristian Doerken, the Product Manager for Visual MODFLOW Flex. Our instructors bring a wealth of real-world experience with a strong understanding of the underlying principles to help explain the concepts covered in the course and answer questions you may have.
